CHATTOGRAM, June 1, 2025 (BSS): Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Faruki here today collected the belongings of July martyrs here today for July Memorial Museum.

A team will work all over the country for the next one and a half months to collect those memories. A number of sub-committees have been established to oversee the project.

“Our goal is to complete the collection within the next one and a half months and open the July Memorial Museum on August 5," he said.

Advisor Faruki collected memories of Faisal Ahmed Shanto, a martyr in the July Uprising, from his residence at city’s Lalkhan Bazar.

Shanto's mother handed over her son's clothes and other belongings to the advisor and demanded justice for her son's murder.

Advisor Faruki consoled Shanto's mother and said the pains of every family is unbearable. People will realize the pain while visiting the July Museum, he said.

The adviser said July is not only a tale of heroism, but also of suffering. This narrative   should be relayed to museum visitors with the same amount of pain.  To achieve this, we are collecting the items belong to the martyrs," he said.

When asked about the progress of the trial of the persons involved with the murder, the advisor said the government has focused on the trial with utmost importance.

He said the trial of a case has launched today and it was broadcast live on television, so that everyone can know what is happening in the court.

“We do not want any unfair trial. Because the atrocities that took place in Bangladesh in July and what happened in the previous 16 years are not fabricated incidents as those incidents happened before our eyes. So we want a fair trial to give the criminal real punishment they deserve,” he added.

The adviser said the July Museum will present all the crimes of the murderer before the nation, so that after 50 years, when we will be no more, the generation of that time will realize what really happened.

The adviser on Saturday visited the house of July martyr Wasim Akram in Chakaria and collected his belongings.
