DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) -The High Court (HC) today dropped from its cause list a writ, filed against the decisions of National Sports Council (NSC) to remove Faruque Ahmed from the post of BCB president and appoint Aminul Islam Bulbul as his successor.

A High Court division bench of Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque and Justice Aynun Nahar Siddiqua dropped the plea as "out of list" this morning.

Senior jurist Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal and Barrister Kaiser Kamal argued for the writ, while Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman stood for NSC. Barrister Nasir Uddin Ashim took part in the hearing for Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

National Sports Council on May 29 cancelled Faruque's nomination as BCB director and nominated Aminul Islam Bulbul as a director the next day. Faruque Ahmed filed the writ with the High Court, challenging the two decisions of the NSC.
