Play “Mukhomukhi” to be staged tomorrow at Shilpakala

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - The play “Mukhomukhi”, based on the spirit of the Monsoon Revolution, will be staged tomorrow.

Organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy with the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the opening performance of the play will take place at 7pm on Friday at the Experimental Theatre Hall of the National Theatre.

As part of a new theatre production initiative, the concept, planning, and direction of the play have been undertaken by Dhiman Chandra Barman. The play will be staged by the “Theatre Web”.

The cast of “Mukhomukhi” includes Al Mamun, Polly Chowdhury, Fauzia Afrin Tilu, Mujahidul Islam Rifat, Srikanta Mondal, Sanjit Kumar Dey, Saima Selim Anika, Sworup Ratan Lalon, and Hasib Ul Islam.

Backstage contributors include Robi Prarombha, Mehedi Hasan Sohan, Md. Ashraful Islam, Tanvir Ahmed, Robiul Ahmed, Palok Das, Ratan Dhar, Arpa Bonik, Priyanka Talukder, Gautam Dey, and Sharmistha Roy.

Among the behind-the-scenes creative team: Amit Chowdhury and Hasan Ishtiaq Imran are in charge of movement direction while costume design is by Mohsina Akter; set design and visual concept by Dhiman Chandra Barman, with assistance from Mujahidul Islam; props design by Ragib Naim, assisted by Sanjit Kumar Dey.

Lighting design is by Dhiman Chandra Barman and executed by Jadid Imtiaz. Sound and music design is by Ragib Naim, executed by Mamdudur Rahman. 

The publication is managed by Rezwan Hasan Shawon, and Ragib Naim also serves as assistant director.
