Jamaat-e-Islam controls party, it is able to control country: Jamaat Amir

DHAKA, July 25, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman today said Jamaat-e-Islami has controlled the party and they are able to control the country.

“Those who cannot control the party they will not be able to control the overall situation of the country by maintaining peace and order,” he said.

The Jamaat Amir said this while addressing as chief guest Dhaka city south Rukan conference at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) here.

Mentioning that Jamaat leaders have no home in abroad, Dr Shafiqur Rahman said Jamaat leader did not flee the country and they will never do this. “Those who did not love the country built their second home abroad and fled the country for their own interest”, he told the conference.

On the other hand, he said Jamaat leaders have waged movement and struggled against the fascism after coming home from abroad for protecting the independence and sovereignty during the crisis moment of the country and establishing the rights of the people. 

“And that’s why; the Jamaat-e-Islami’s top leaders were the victim of political killing,” he added. 

With Jamaat central executive council member and Dhaka south city Amir M Nurul Islam Bulbul in the chair, the conference was also addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant secretary Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, central executive council member and publicity and media wing secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda as the special guests.

Jamaat assistant secretary Maulana ATM Masum recited the Darsul Quran in the conference.

In the past 54 years,  Dr Shafiqur Rahman said Jamaat-e-Islami did not do any injustice or carry out  any oppression to any person in the country, adding that no jamaat leaders and workers did not get involved in terrorism and  extortion during this time.

He said jamaat has controlled the party and they can control the country also. Those who cannot control their party would not be able to control the overall situation for the interest of the the country. 

Terming the Islam as the only non-communal religion, the Jamaat Amir said if the Islamic state is established then extortionists, terrorists, drug peddlers, rapists, killers and plunders will not be able to commit any misdeeds. So, propaganda is being spread against jamaat, he added.

Seeking cooperation from all quarters for building an equity-based society, the jamaat chief said the Jamaat-e-Islami wants to walk with the Islam and the patriotic people. The politics of the jamaat would be only for the welfare of the people and the humanity also, he added. 

Central executive council member Mobarrak Hossain, central working council member Advocate Jashim Uddin Sarker, central Majlis Sura member and Dhaka south city Nayebe Amir Abdus Sabur Fakir were present while central working council member and Dhaka south  city secretary Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud moderated the conference.
