SYLHET, July 25, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today said July declaration and July charter will be realized through holding a meeting at the central Shaheed Minar on August 3.
“We are going to hold a meeting at the central Shaheed Minar on August 3 with an aim to realize July declaration and July charter … Inshallah, we will realize our demand from the Shaheed Minar,” he said.
Nahid said this while speaking at a rally at Sylhet central ShahidMinar here this afternoon after the road march here.
Earlier, the road march begun from Chowhatta and paraded different thoroughfares and ended at the Shaheed Minar.
“We have come to the streets for trial, reform and enacting new constitution which would ensure our right and people’s dignity,” he told the rally.
NCP is working for establishing voting rights for the expatriates, Nahid said, adding that the economy of the country is functioning with the earnings of hardworking expatriates of Syleht and NCP are speaking for establishing their voting rights.
“We want all the expatriates of the country including Sylhet will be part of the policy framing for the country”, he added.
Noting that the NCP is working for building a discrimination free Bangladesh, Nahid said Sylhet is full of various mineral resources including oil, gas and stones, adding that this Sylhet must be built as an industrially developed one of tomorrow’s Bangladesh.
Speaking as the special guest, NCP’s Chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary said the publicity is not right that NCP is an anti-BNP party. But extortion and syndicate will not be allowed in the country, he added.
