IGP calls for hassle-free services at police stations

DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam today urged law enforcement officials to ensure hassle-free services for the public at police stations.

"No one should face humiliation at the police station. The doors of the police station must be open to the people and the atmosphere should be welcoming, not one of fear. The police station should be the first place to seek justice," the IGP stated.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of a workshop titled "What the police can do to restore public trust by providing hassle-free and legal service delivery at the police station" at the Police Staff College Bangladesh in Mirpur, according to a press release.

The workshop was presided over by Acting Rector of the Police Staff College Bangladesh, S. M. Rokon Uddin. 

Other notable attendees included Senior Directing Staff (Training) Dr. AFM Masum Rabbani, Additional IGP of PBI Md. Mostafa Kamal, DIG (Administration) Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim, and several senior police officials.
