Workshop on strategies for publishing research papers in quality journals held at JnU

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) –A daylong training workshop titled “Strategies for Publishing Research Papers in Quality Journals” was held at Jagannath University (JnU) here today. 

The event was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university.

JnU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Md. Rezaul Karim attended the workshop as the chief guest. 

He said that successful research publication requires proper knowledge, patience and effective strategies. 

He added that if researchers focus on originality and quality, publishing in international journals becomes achievable.

Presided over by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Abu Layek, the workshop was also addressed by Treasurer Prof. Dr. Sabina Sharmin as a special guest. 
She stressed the need to prioritize quality over quantity in research publications to achieve global recognition.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zamir Hossain and Prof. Dr. A. J. Saleh Ahammad of the Chemistry Department conducted the training session of the workshop as resource persons, discussing research paper structure, journal selection and the review process.

IQAC Additional Director Mezbah-ul- Azam Sowdagar delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the aims and significance of the workshop. 

Faculty members from various departments participated in the daylong training.
