Low pressure formed, Bangladesh may experience rain for three days from Oct 29

DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - A low-pressure that had formed since this morning is likely to turn into a cyclone and will hit Indian states of Odisha and Tamil Nadu. 

Bangladesh may experience rain for two or three days from October 29 due to the influence of the low pressure.

Duty officer of Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) Kazi Zebunnesa confirmed BSS of the development. 

She continued: "The low pressure was developed at 6 am today. It is likely to intensify and it may transform into a cyclone. But, it will not hit inside Bangladesh territory rather hit the Indian states Odisha and Tamil Nadu.  

The coastal belts may experience heavy rain while the other part of the country light to moderate rain due to the influence of the low pressure." 

According to the met office bulletin, rain or thunder showers is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

"Rain/thounder showers is likely to occur at one or two places over chattogram and Sylher divisions.Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," the bulletin said. 
   
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, it also said. 

The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius Feni station while the minimum temperature was recorded 20.1 degrees Celsius in Tetulia station. 
   
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:25 pm today and will rise at 6:01 am tomorrow.
