56 HSTU teachers to receive research grants this year

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 56 teachers of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) will receive research grants totaling Taka 83,25,000 from the Ministry of Science and Technology this year, official sources said here today.

A letter sent from the Ministry of Science and Technology confirmed the matter to HSTU authorities, according to a release issued by the Director of the Public Relations Department of the university, Md Khademul Islam. 

The ministry has already approved 662 research projects under its science and technology programme. Of these, a total of 28 HSTU teachers have been selected as Chief Researchers in 28 projects, while another 28 teachers will work as their assistants. 

HSTU Registrar Professor Dr Md Abu Hasan said that the university's teachers are engaged in various research activities throughout the year. The recent grants will facilitate its continuation. The university administration will ensure that the teachers can utilize the funds properly.
