JU Nationalist Teachers' Forum gets new executive body

Jahangirnagar University, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Nationalist Teachers' Forum (NTF), a pro-Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) teachers' body at Jahangirnagar University, has elected its new executive body. 

Chief Election Commissioner Prof. Khondokar Mohammad Shariful Huda of the Geography and Environment Department announced the results around 1 pm at the teachers' lounge of the university’s central cafeteria.

Prof. Md. Shamsul Alam of the Government and Politics Department has been elected as President, Prof. Md. Jamal Uddin of the Environmental Sciences Department as General Secretary, and Prof. Mohammad Nazrul Islam of the Mathematics Department as Organizing Secretary.

The newly elected Vice Presidents are Prof. Saleh Ahmmad Khan, Prof. Mostofa Nazmul Mansur, Prof. Md. Shahadat Hossain, Prof. Mohammad Mamun Hossain, and Prof. Nasrin Sultana, while Prof. Md. Zakir Hossain, Prof. Borhan Uddin, and Prof. Mohammad Raihan Sharif have been elected as Joint General Secretaries.

Besides, Prof. Md. Monowar Hossain has been elected Treasurer, with Prof. Aminur Rahman Khan as Office Secretary. 

Md. Al-Amin Khan has been elected as Joint Organizing Secretary, and Prof. Md. Fazlul Karim Patowary as Information and Technology Secretary. Prof. Md. Nazrul Islam has been elected as Environment and Research Secretary.

The election was conducted by Prof. Khondokar Mohammad Shariful Huda, with Prof. Nazmul Alam and Prof. Md. Manzoor Elahee serving as election commissioners. The voting process took place from 10am to 12pm.
