'Foundation training key to building professional skills'

KHULNA, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS) - Acting Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md. Firoz Shah today underscored the importance of foundation training in developing professional skills and leadership qualities among newly appointed officers.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a focus group discussion titled "Evaluation of the Training Contents of the Foundation Course for Enhancing the Capacity of Newly Recruited Civil Service Officers," held at the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner's office.

The event was organized jointly by the Office of the Divisional Commissioner, Khulna, and the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).

Md. Firoz Shah said such training provides participants with knowledge about the nation's history and various aspects of socio-economic development. 

He emphasized that all training programs should be conducted by experienced trainers and that no course should be taken lightly.

Highlighting the value of practical, hands-on learning, he instructed officials to ensure trainees acquire a clear understanding of the functions of all government departments.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md. Hossain Shawkat, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Abu Sayed Md. Manjur Alam, Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Regional Information Office A.S.M. Kabir, BPATC Deputy Director (in charge) Afia Rahman Mukta, and Deputy Director Sanjida Shahnaz also spoke at the event.
