DHAKA, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi today celebrated its 57th founding anniversary with various programmes including a rally, cultural display and discussions.

The founding ceremony titled 'Progotir Pothe Jiboner Gan' was held at the central Shaheed Minar here this afternoon.

Rebeka Saren, a woman leader of the tribal community, inaugurated the observation ceremony by hoisting a flag and the National anthem was sung by the members of Udichi Shilpigosthi at the same time.

Before the inauguration of the event, they marched a rally and staged a road show drama 'Lal Shohor' on the Central Shaheed Minar premises.

The drama was mainly focused on the incidents of July Revolution but also covered vast areas of democratic movements of Bangladesh. Besides, the show covered symbolic representation of systematic repression and deprivation of the poor.

Udichi Acting President Habibul Alam, its general secretary Jamshed Anwar Tapan, vice-president of the Central Parliament of Udichi Shilpigosthi Advocate Tabarak Hossain, its vice-president Yasmin Nila, Convener of the Democratic Cultural Union Mofizur Rahman Laltu and other prominent cultural figures were present as guests at the event.

At the beginning of the discussion session, guests were welcomed to the stage with Uttariyo and crests.

Announcing the inauguration, Rebeka Saren thanked the organisers and said Bangladesh is like a garden of diverse flowers- beauty of which lies in variety.

"Similarly, our country is enriched by many communities, each with their own languages, traditions, and cultures. Those who cherish their art and heritage foster love and respect, not hatred. Our artists have kept this spirit alive through their songs and expressions. With these words, I declare the inauguration of the 57th founding anniversary," she added.

While delivering the welcome speech, Jamshed Anwar Tapan expressed his hope to continue the past legacy of cultural fight against irregulating and inconsistencies.

"We have fought against Hasina's authoritarian rule. Through this struggle, we along with Udichi and other organisations now united under the banner of Gonotantrik Sangkskritik Oikkon (Democratic Cultural Unity) have built our solidarity on the streets," he said while describing their attempts against the Hasina regime.
