Stroke and Rehabilitation Center launched at RCMCH

 RANGPUR, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Stroke and Rehabilitation Center has been inaugurated at Rangpur Community Medical College and Hospital (RCMCH), one of the main institutions of Rangpur Group, in Rangpur metropolis. 

 The Stroke and Rehabilitation Center, equipped with the latest equipment of international standards, was inaugurated at RCMCH on the occasion of World Stroke Day 2025 on Wednesday afternoon.

 The center has been launched aiming at providing international standard modern treatment and healthcare to patients of the country's northern region and neighbouring countries suffering from heart disease, especially stroke.

 Managing Director of Rangpur Group Md Nazmul Ahsan Sarkar presided over the inaugural function.

 The function was arranged under the overall supervision of Chief Coordinator of the hospital's Heart Center and Stroke and Rehabilitation Center Md Moazzem Hossain Sarkar.

 Rangpur Divisional Health Director (Health) Dr Gausul Azim Chowdhury formally inaugurated the Stroke and Rehabilitation Center in the function as the chief guest.

Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital Professor Dr Tofail Hossain Bhuiyan and Deputy Managing Director of Rangpur Group Md Ashraful Alam Al-Amin were present as special guests at the event. 

Assistant Professor of the National Institute of Neuro Sciences and Hospital Dr Md Farhad Ahmed and Brain and Spine Surgery Specialist at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Dr Shahnewaz Biswas were present as honored guests. 

 Principal of Rangpur Community Medical College Professor Dr Md Shariful Islam, its Vice-principals, Directors of Rangpur Group and RCMCH, Principal of Rangpur Community Dental College, doctors and students of the institutions were also present. 

Earlier, a colorful procession was organized by Rangpur Community Medical College and Hospital in observance of World Stroke Day- 2025 with the theme "Every Minute Counts". 

The theme highlights the urgent need to recognize stroke symptoms quickly and act immediately. Timely treatment can significantly improve recovery and reduce disability of stroke patients. 

Moazzem Hossain Sarkar, Director of Rangpur Group and Chief Coordinator of RCMCH's Heart Center and Stroke and Rehabilitation Center, led the procession. 

 In addition, doctors, officers, employees and students of Rangpur Community Medical College and Hospital were also present at the procession.
