BERC adjusts jet fuel price with upward international price

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today adjusted the price of Jet A-1 or jet fuel, used for aircrafts, in view of its heightened cost in international market.

According to a BERC circular the price of Jet A-1 fuel was increased by Tk 0.95 per litre – from Tk.99.29 to Tk.100.24 for domestic careers.

The price has been re-fixed at Tk US$0.6604 from $0.6545 per litre for international airlines.

The new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to November 9, it said.

The regulatory agency said considering the Platts Rate from October 5 to November 4 on an average, it adjusted jet fuel price for November, 2025.

The circular was issued after a public hearing in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 in view of a proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).

The commission reviewed the average of the Platts Rate published for Jet A-1 from October 5, 2025 to November 4, 2025, along with exchange rate of the US dollar in the LC settlement of BPC and price of diesel, price of Jet A-1 for November 2025.
