CUMILLA, Mar 21, 2026 (BSS)- Main Eid congregation of the district was held at the central Eidgah Maidan here today in a peaceful and solemn religious atmosphere.
Thousands of devotees joined the congregation at 7am where Agriculture, Food and Livestock Minister Aminur Rashid urged all for taking collective efforts for nation-building.
He said that everyone must work with unity to move the country forward so that the future generations can inherit a developed, prosperous and livable Bangladesh. He also sought sincere cooperation from all to achieve this goal.
The prayers were led by Qari Ibrahim, khatib of Kandirpar Jame Mosque. Special prayers were offered after the Eid prayers, seeking peace, prosperity and welfare for the country, the nation and the Muslim Ummah. Prayers were also offered to Almighty Allah for the happiness and well-being of the people.
Among others, the Administrator of Cumilla district council Md. Reza Hasan, Cumilla City Corporation Administrator Yusuf Molla Tipu, senior government officials, public representatives and people from different walks of life joined the main congregation.
According to the district administration, a total of 4,151 Eid congregations were held in 17 upazilas of the district with great enthusiasm and festivity. Of these, 2,093 were held in mosques and 2,058 at Eidgah grounds.
The festive spirit was evident across both urban and rural areas, marked by harmony and communal bond, while recreational spots witnessed large crowds.
