GOPALGANJ, March 21, 2026 (BSS) – An employee of Sadarpur West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) in Faridpur was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a tree in the Baikunthapur area under Kalabari union of Kotalipara upazila in the district around 8am today.

The deceased, Shariful Islam, 30, a switch board attendant, was the son of Moksed Ali Sheikh of Tupuria village in Kotalipara upazila.

Abul Kalam Azad, Residential Engineer of Sadarpur West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) in Faridpur, confirmed the matter to BSS.

According to Azad, Shariful was traveling by motorcycle to his village home in Tupuria during the Eid holidays. 

Upon reaching the Baikunthapur area, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a roadside tree and died on the spot. Upon receiving the news, family members went to the scene and brought the body back home.
