Opposition leader exchanges Eid greetings with diplomats

DHAKA, March 21, 2026 (BSS) - Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today exchanged Eid greetings and pleasantries with diplomats from various countries stationed in Dhaka at his official residence on Minto Road in the capital.

The programme was held from 11 am to 12:30 pm where representatives of diplomatic missions from different countries took part, said a press release.

Diplomats from the USA, the UK, European Union, China, Turkey, Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, India, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Nepal, Bhutan, Belgium, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt, Palestine, Algeria, Kosovo, Albania, Brunei, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka were present , among others.

Representatives from various international organizations, including UNDP, UNESCO, and UNICEF, were also present at the event. 

After the exchange of greetings, the guests were entertained with traditional Bangladeshi cuisine.
