CHATTOGRAM, March 21, 2026 (BSS) - One person was killed and two others critically injured when a passenger bus overturned at the Bhatikhaine road head area on the Patiya bypass of the Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar highway today.

The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.

Following the accident, personnel from the Fire Service, assisted by local residents, rescued the injured passengers and rushed them to Patiya Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Medical Officer Alok Guha of the health complex told BSS that one of the injured succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

 The two other injured victims were later referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
