
RAJBARI, Mar 21, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Economic and Statistical Affairs Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir offered Eid prayers at separate venues here today.
Due to inclement weather, the main Eid congregation was held at the District Model Mosque at 8:30 am in the town instead of local Eidgah. State Minister Khayem offered his prayers there and exchanged Eid greetings with local people.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that after a month of fasting, Eid brings immense joy and happiness among the people. Eid fosters unity by helping people forget differences and urged all to work together for the country’s development and the welfare of the nation, he added.
Meanwhile, Adviser Dr. Titumir offered Eid prayers at 9:00 am at his village home at Gopalpur Jame Mosque under Pangsha upazila in the district.
In addition, Member of Parliament from Rajbari-2 constituency Harunur Rashid offered his Eid prayers at 8:00 am at Pangsha Siddiqia Fazil Madrasa ground.
After the prayers, he exchanged greetings with local people and prayed for the well-being of the country.
The main Eid congregation at the District Model Mosque was led by Mufti Hafez Abu Sayeed Tayebi while Mawlana Abu Musa Ashari led the prayers at Pangsha Siddiqia Madrasa ground.
Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akter also offered prayers with female worshippers at the Model Mosque. Police Super Rajbari Mohammad Monjur Morshed and other officials of the district administration were present.
SM Hafizur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation said, at least 67 Eid congregations were held in five upazilas of the district.
