DHAKA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan today said the will of the citizens would fix the course of the government as the incumbent government was installed to power overcoming many obstacles reflecting peoples will.

“The last election set the course of the country where the peoples’ ownership is the prime factor,” he told the celebration of private Banglavision TV’s 21st founding anniversary.

Swapan said the country returned to a path where people’s ownership remains the central driving force as the citizens successfully overcame all obstacles through their prolonged struggles and movements.

“The formation of an elected government under the leadership of Tarique Rahman through a free national election has created an opportunity to fulfil the long-standing aspirations of the people since the Liberation War,” the minister said.

Swapan said Bangladesh’s history made its way forward through various struggles and turning points and “we express our deep gratitude to the Almighty that despite many obstacles, the people’s victory has ultimately prevailed”.

He appreciated Banglavision’s role saying the channel stood by the people with objective journalism since its inception and expressed hope that it would continue to do so in future as well.

The minister extended warm congratulations and best wishes to the Banglavision family and all concerned on the occasion on behalf of the government.
