DHAKA, April 22, 2026 (BSS) - The government overnight introduced mandatory pass system for bikers to procure fuel, initially from seven filling stations, to regulate petroleum distribution in view of the energy crunch caused by the Middle East crisis.
“Bikers will require getting their fuel pass through online registration using an app to get octane/petrol from seven designated filling stations in the capital,” an Energy Division spokesman said.
He said the Energy Division last night issued the notification through its Facebook account asking bikers to install the “fuel pass” app and get registration process done before queuing up in filling stations.
The designated stations are: Sonar Bangla Service Station at Asadgate, Trust Filling Station at Tejgaon, Gulshan Service Station at Mohakhali, Meghna Model Pump at Shahbagh, Nikunja Model Service Centre at Nikunja, Khalek Service Station at Mirpur Darussalam, and Talukdar Filling Station at Asadgate.
According to Energy Division, the bikers’ fuel pass system would be made mandatory for all filling stations in the capital while it called the overnight initiative as a “pilot” scheme.
According to the new instructions bikers would not get fuel without the pass at seven designated filling stations from now.
The bikers were advised to download the pass from the Google Play Store on the website.
