Law minister urges all to remain vigilant against drug abuse, extremism

JHENAIDAH, May 29, 2026 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Md. Asaduzzaman today said that everyone must remain vigilant to prevent drugs and extremism from engulfing the society.

He made the remarks while addressing an Eid reunion programme as the chief guest at Dukkhi Mahmud Degree College at Shailkupa Upazila of the district.

The law minister said, “An evil force is operating in this area under the guise of selling herbal tablets. As a former student of this institution, I urge all of you to stay alert. You are my companions in protecting society from the grip of the extremism and the drugs.”

Among others, upazila BNP General Secretary Humayun Babar Firoz, local BNP leader Mozammel Hossain Tozam and former chairman of Tribeni Union Sabdar Hossain Molla, attended the programme as special guests.

Former and present teachers and students of the college also attended the programme.
