
DINAJPUR, May 29, 2026 (BSS) - Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof Dr AZ M Zahid Hossain has urged all to extend cooperation to ensure good governance and building a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
He made the call while addressing a post Eid view exchange meeting at the Ghhoraghat Upazila Parishad Auditorium here today as the chief guest.
Describing BNP as a pro-people party that stands beside the people at any crisis, he asked the leaders and activists of the party to support the distressed people of all religions, castes and professions during the times of crisis. People never forget the help or assistance provided in the times of need, he added.
Addressing the audience, he said that social unity can be achieved through the collective living and cooperation. He emphasized that social order and compassion can be maintained only when everyone remains united.
During the event, the minister also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
He also called upon the citizens to participate in various programs marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Ziaur Rahman on May 30.
He also requested that special prayers be offered in mosques, temples and churches across the country according to respective religious traditions.
