No alternative to honesty for building corruption-free society: Kayser Kamal

NETRAKONA, May 29, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kaysar Kamal today said that building an ideal and developed nation cannot be possible without honesty.

Expressing his firm commitment to building a corruption-free and well-governed area, he said, "As long as I remain your Member of Parliament, I promise that no form of corruption will ever touch me."

He made these remarks while addressing an alumni association reunion at the premises of Kalmakanda Al-Jamiatul Islamia Fazil Madrasah here this afternoon as the chief guest.
 
"This place is deeply intertwined with my memories and was very dear to my late father. Our family land and an orphanage are located nearby. Coming to this beloved place has made me emotional," he said.

He received an honorary crest on behalf of his late father at the function and thanked the organizers. He also respectfully recalled the 'N Akanda Kamil Madrasah' established here after the name of his grandfather.

Regarding regional development, good governance and justice, he said, "We are not just talking about righteousness; we want to demonstrate that practically we are on the path of justice and equity. 

Keeping Almighty Allah present as witness, I can say that not a single Taka or a single grain of rice has been corrupted in the distribution of state benefits here for a single second."

Hinting at smuggling and illegal earnings in the border areas, the Deputy Speaker issued a stern warning to the corrupt individuals, saying, "The Almighty Allah is watching everything-whether you are feeding your wife and children with illegally earned money or building structures day after day. Everything can vanish in a moment. At the end of the day, our ultimate shelter and final destination is that three-and-a-half cubits of earth. Therefore, there is no alternative to working with honesty."

He reminded the audience of a historic quote by the first Khaliph Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA), saying to those present, "If I do well, support me and if I make a mistake, correct me."

With Convenor of the Alumni Association and teacher of the madrasha Mawlana Md. Abul Hashem in the chair Member of Parliament from the reserved women's seat Nazmun Nahar Nilu was present at the function as a guest of honour.

The chief guest, in his speech, referred to the female lawmaker as the 'daughter-in-law' of the area and urged the audience to welcome her with applause.

Among others, Deputy Inspector of Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Md. Akram, Kalmakanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Mikail Islam, Principal of Kalmakanda Government College Sukumar Chandra Banik, President of the Upazila BNP MA Khayer, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalmakanda Police Station Md. Abul Hashem and Acting Principal of Al-Jamiatul Islamia Fazil Madrasah Mawlana Md. Habibur Rahman were present as special guests.

Besides, former student of the madrasah and Additional Commissioner (Customs) Md. Mizanur Rahman, founding president of the institution valiant freedom fighter Abdul Bari Chan Miah and Principal of N Akanda Kamil Madrasah Md. Abdul Baten, among others, spoke on the occasion.

The event was crowded with former and current students, created an emotional and familial atmosphere.

Addressing the current students, Deputy Speaker Kaysar Kamal urged them to follow the footsteps of successful former students like Customs Officer Mizanur Rahman as role models and come forward for the welfare of the country and the nation.

He concluded his speech by pledging to build a modern and well-governed Kalmakanda-Durgapur based on honesty and justice.
