DHAKA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan today said an efficient, talented and responsible administration is the driving force behind state governance and development.

"Public officials have a vital role in ensuring the country's progress, good governance and fulfillment of people's expectations," he said.

The minister made the remarks while exchanging post-Eid greetings with officers and employees at the conference room of the Ministry.

He said officials of the republic are among the nation's brightest citizens who have earned their positions through competitive examinations and are entrusted with important responsibilities of the state.

"The state has nurtured them, and the people place their highest expectations on them. Political leadership may provide direction, but the administration carries out the core responsibilities of running the state," he said.

The minister further said that many countries around the world are advancing rapidly through morality, efficiency and good governance, and Bangladesh must also move forward along the same path.

He stressed the need to move away from the culture of corruption, waste and irregularities and ensure the proper use of state resources. 

"Public confidence can be restored through enhanced capacity and accountability in government and state-owned institutions," he added.

Senior officials and employees of the ministry were present at the programme.
