DHAKA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) - The government has extended the contractual appointment of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Chairman Md. Rezaul Karim for another year.

Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard today.

According to the notification, under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, the contractual appointment of Md. Rezaul Karim as Chairman of the BPDB has been extended for one year, suspending his post-retirement leave (PRL) and related benefits.

As per the government order, the appointment will take effect from the date of his joining as chairman, and he will continue to serve in the position for the next one year.

The notification also stated that other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through a separate contract.
