SYLHET, June 10, 2026 (BSS)- Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Dr. Khairul Islam today said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman proclaimed Bangladesh's independence at the country's most critical moment, risking his own life and his family.
He said, “Shaheed Zia’s proclamation inspired the people of Bangladesh, and they joined into the Liberation War. For this reason, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman cannot be removed from the map of Bangladesh.”
The VC said this at a discussion organized on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at the university's mini auditorium today.
Dr. Khairul Islam said Ziaur Rahman always played positive role during the critical juncture of the country.
