Gazipur Agricultural University ranks top position in THE impact rankings

GAZIPUR, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has retained its position as the highest-ranked public university in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026. 

THE evaluated 1,646 universities from 116 countries and territories based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributions to education, research, innovation, social engagement and sustainable development.

GAU ranked 82nd globally in SDG-1 (No Poverty) with a score of 74.8 and 66th in SDG-2 (Zero Hunger) with a score of 78.3. 
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman said the achievement reflects the collective efforts of the university community and strengthens its commitment to advancing education, research, innovation and sustainable development.
