DHAKA, July 9, 2026 (BSS)- The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has approved the implementation of the 'Khan Academy Bangladesh' programme in 100 secondary schools across seven districts to strengthen mathematics teaching and improve students' learning outcomes.

The one-year programme, supported financially and technically by SAJIDA Foundation, will run until June 30, 2027, covering Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Chandpur, Cumilla and Panchagarh.

According to a DSHE order issued today, the project will train mathematics teachers, promote the use of the Khan Academy Bangladesh platform, provide digital devices and technical support, organise student workshops and conduct regular monitoring and progress reporting.

The order stipulates that the programme must not conflict with national or religious values or disrupt regular classroom activities. School selection will require DSHE approval following recommendations from district and upazila education authorities.

Any project modification or extension will need prior DSHE approval, while officials at upazila, district, regional and DSHE levels will monitor implementation through quarterly and annual progress reports.
