Mujibur elected president, Mahmuda Gen secy of Bangladesh Law Society UK

DHAKA, May 5, 2025 (BSS) – Barrister Muhammad Mujibur Rahman and Advocate Mahmuda Chowdhury have been elected President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Law Society UK, an organization of former students of the Law Department of Dhaka University.


The election was held in the 12th Annual Conference and Executive Council Election of the society. It was held at the Atrium Hall in East London on May 3, according to a press release received here today.


The election commission comprising Barrister Solicitor Nurul Amin, Advocate Sabera Ikram and Councilor Mohammad Saifur Rahman Chowdhury declared the names of the elected president and general secretary.


Mujibur has been elected president unopposed in the council of Bangladesh Law Society UK while Mahmuda became the first elected woman general secretary of the society.


The conference, held under the chairmanship of the outgoing committee president Barrister Shibli Sadiq and under the guidance of the secretary Barrister Kazi Ashiqur Rahman.


The event was attended by the current and former leaders and general members of the association, various professionals, media personalities and prominent people of the community from different cities of the United Kingdom.


Besides, special honors were given to twelve members including Barrister Muhammad Mujibur Rahman for their special achievements in the past year.
