NCP forms liaison committee to engage in dialogue with political parties

DHAKA, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizens' Party (NCP) has formed a political liaison committee with its Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb, to engage in dialogue with like-minded political parties, organizations and stakeholders.

“The political liaison committee has been formed to engage in dialogue with various political parties, initiatives, and stakeholders,” said an NCP press release issued this evening.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam has approved the nine-member committee tasked with maintaining political communications and forging potential alliances, read the release.

Other members of the committee include Joint Conveners Nusrat Tabassum, Mahbub Alam, Dr. Atique Mujahid, Ashraf Uddin Mahadi, Anik Roy and Muhammad Hasan Ali; Joint Member Secretary Faridul Haque; Organizer Maulana Sanaullah Khan; and Joint Coordinator Saddam Hossain.

Ariful Islam Adeeb said, “The committee will work to align political programs and initiatives such as seeking justice from the ruling Awami League, advocating for structural reforms, and ensuring medical treatment for the wounded and families of martyrs.”.

“We aim to foster coordination with all political entities, civil society groups, and institutions to achieve national consensus on pressing issues,” he said.

Earlier, Adeeb served as a member of the liaison committee for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and also as the coordinator of the 'Anti-Fascist Student Unity' formed in 2023, comprising 16 student organizations including Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Parishad.

He also coordinated statements and protest campaigns under the banner of 'Civil Society Network', which included intellectuals, activists, and professionals.

From 2021 to 2024, he served as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Student Rights Council.
