DHAKA, May 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four Awami League (AL) men including its women chapter organising secretary from different parts of the capital city on Tuesday.

The detainees have been identified as organizing secretary of Mohila AL, Ismat Ara Happy, 41, 33 no ward Jubo League president Azim Md Mahbub Alam, 53, former joint general secretary of Kotwali Thana Chhatra League, Md Saiful Islam Sagor, 32, assistant general secretary of Mohammadpur Thana Chhatra League, Tanzim Rahman Akash Dewan, 32.

Separate teams of DB arrested Happy from the Dhanmondi area, Azim Mahbub from the Kotwali Thana area, Sagor from the Islampur area, Akash from the Basila area under Mohammadpur Thana on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of DB's media and public relations, Muhammad Telbur Rahman confirmed that the arrestees are accused in multiple cases with specific charges.

The detainees had been involved in destabilising the country by bringing out flash processions at different parts of the capital city, he also confirmed.
