Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) informed this to local journalists saying they have urged the BSF for a flag meeting to return the detainees.

The detained Bangladeshis are Alam (45), son of Bashir Uddin of Jagdal village of Ranishankail upazila, Mister (30), son of Tariqul Islam of Belpukur village of Baliadangi upazila and Hamidul (30), son of Abdul and Shamim (23), son of Ansarul Islam both of Ziabari village of the Balidangi Upazila, BGB sources said.

Locals said, a patrol team of BSF captured the Bangladeshis from about 200 yards inside the Indian border near pillar 374/1-S adjacent to Ranishankail upazila this morning while they were returning to Bangladesh from India.

Lieutenant Colonel Tanzir Ahmed, commander of Thakurgaon 50 BGB battalion, said a flag meeting has been called to bring back the detained Bangladeshis.

“Efforts are underway to bring them back to the country as soon as possible,” he added.
