Farroque demands quick polls

DHAKA, May 7, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Chairperson's adviser Zainul Abdin Farroque today demanded national polls immediately saying if a fair election is held at this moment, people of the country will be able to exercise their voting rights to elect their preferred party.
 
"We will not engage in any such reforms that can delay the elections through another conspiracy like 1/11,” he said in a sit-in programme demanding a specific roadmap for the national parliament election in front of Jatiya Press Club here.

Seventy-Five percent people of Bangladesh want elections now. So, elections should not be delayed," he added.

Jatiya Nagorik Parishad president Dr. Mainul Islam Badal Talukder chaired the event which was moderated by general secretary Md. Solaiman Talukder.

BNP Chairperson's Adviser Harun Or Rashid, Religious Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam Jamal, Assistant Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain, BNP Executive Committee member AKM Mozammel Haque, among others, were present.
