DHAKA, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - A free medical camp and health check-up took place at Dhaka University (DU) Rokeya Hall under the initiative of Kamol Medi Aid founder and DU Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader Tanvir Bari Hamim.
DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha and Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed inaugurated the medical camp at 10 am today with Tanvir Bari Hamim in the chair.
DU JCD President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahos and Organizing Secretary Nur Alam Bhuiyan Emon were present as guests on the occasion.
In the medical camp, expert physicians from eight disciplines provided various services including ENT, skin, gynaecology, medicine, eye, and dentistry.
In addition, blood grouping, blood pressure, and diabetes testing services were provided in the camp.
Tanvir Bari Hamim, founder of Medicaid, DU, told reporters that the camp started in Rokeya Hall. Camps will also be organised at the remaining four halls for girls in phases.
The university administration is sincerely providing inspiration for this work,
he added.
Kamol MediAid, DU, is providing free telemedicine services to students with expert physicians, delivering medicine to students who feel unwell without delivery charges, and is organizing a day-long free medical camp and distributing medicines for students of DU.
In addition, Kamal MedAid is installing sanitary vending machines in the Science Girls' Common Room and the Arts Faculty's Girls' Common Room to ensure the health safety of girls and is bearing 33 percent of the cost of pads.
In addition, MedAid has organized an Al-Quran recitation competition with regular students of the DU and an inter-hall short-pitch cricket tournament with 13 halls.
The organization has organized "DU Cultural Young Stars" to develop the cultural talent of Dhaka University students and inspire them in local culture.
