DHAKA, May 27, 2025 (BSS) –Bangladesh Army arrested four individuals, including top-listed terrorist Farid Ahmed Babu, alias Excel Babu, 56, during a special operation conducted in the capital’s Mohammadpur area this afternoon. 
 
According to a press release issued by ISPR tonight, the operation was launched at approximately 3:30 pm from the Basila Army Camp based on specific information. 
 
The raid targeted the Buriganga Filling Station area in Mohammadpur and resulted in the successful arrest of Excel Babu and three of his associates.
 
Excel Babu is a notorious figure with over 15 cases filed against him with various police stations across Dhaka.
 
 The charges include murder, possession of illegal arms, kidnapping, extortion and land grabbing.
 
Intelligence sources have identified Excel Babu as the godfather of several teenage gangs, including Teenage Tornado, Dark Strikers and Red Volcano.
 
He is also the alleged godfather of infamous criminal 'Kobjikata' Anwar, also known as Shooter Anwar.
