CHUADANGA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh today lodged a protest against illegal push-ins of people in the country at a commander level flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Chuadanga border.

“On the one hand, illegal push-ins through borders is the violation of the land boundary law and on the other hand it is tantamount to violation of the human rights internationally,” said BGB Commander Lt Col Md Nazmul Hasan during the meeting.

He has also requested his Indian counterpart Sujit Kumar to take necessary measures to stop such illegal cross-border push-ins.

The BGB commander called upon the BSF to follow due legal procedure in repatriating Bangladeshi citizens.

“If it is necessary to repatriate Bangladeshi nationals, a list of the individuals be handed  over to  BGB for sending  back to Bangladesh and we will respond quickly,” he said.

The BSF commandant assured the BGB of looking into the matter.

The meeting also discussed the measures to stop killings at borders alongside enhancing security and intelligence surveillance to stop smuggling.

Both commanders agreed to maintain good relations while discharging professional duties at frontiers.

They later visited the boundary pillar no 76 together.
