Jamaat-e-Islami condoles deaths in Uttara fire

DHAKA, Jan 16, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep shock at the deaths caused by a fire in Uttara today.

Six people were killed and around 13 others injured in the fire that broke out around 8 am in a building in Sector no 11 of Uttara.

In a condolence message Jamaat-E-Islami conveyed sympathy to the bereaved families, prayed for eternal peace of the deceased and sought patience for their relatives.

Jamaat Ameer also wished a speedy recovery of the injured and urged the authorities to investigate the cause of the fire and take measures to prevent such accidents. 

He called upon Jamaat’s local units to extend all possible humanitarian assistance to the affected families.
