DMP arrests 38 under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 38 people in the last 24 hours as part of the Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, conducting coordinated, day-long drives across multiple crime-prone areas of the capital.

Deputy Police Commissioner, Media and Public Relations Division, DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests. 

According to DMP officials, the arrests were made on Wednesday by police stations including Lalbagh, Demra, Sutrapur, Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Kafrul, Adabor, Jatrabari, Kadamtali, Shahbagh, Wari, Bhashantek and Hatirjheel.

Among the police stations, Shahbagh Police Station recorded the highest number of arrests with 12 people, followed by Mohammadpur with six and Jatrabari with five. 

Other stations made between one and three arrests each during the operation.

The detainees were picked up from various identified crime-prone zones as part of the ongoing crackdown aimed at curbing criminal activities and ensuring public safety in the city.

Police sources confirmed that all arrested individuals have been produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
