Manikganj, Mar 7, 2026 (BSS) - Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed this morning after remaining suspended for about two hours due to dense fog.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam told BSS that ferry movement on the route resumed at 9:30 am on Saturday after the fog lifted. The services were suspended at around 7:30 am as thick fog reduced visibility on the Padma River.

During the suspension period, six ferries remained stranded at Paturia Ghat, four at Daulatdia Ghat, and two in the middle of the Padma River, causing temporary disruption in vehicular movement.

After the fog cleared, ferry operations resumed and vessels are now operating with full capacity to ease traffic congestion on both sides of the river.
