DHAKA, April 05, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today ordered the freezing of shares held in five Beneficiary Owner (BO) accounts belonging to Syed Abed Ali, a former driver for the Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the alleged mastermind behind the PSC question leak scandal, along with his associates.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

According to the petition, the accused are members of an organised criminal group. Syed Abed Ali and his associates are part of a question leak syndicate, with Abed Ali identified as its key mastermind.

The syndicate allegedly leaked questions of various recruitment examinations continuously from 2003 to 2024 and earned a large amount of money illegally through these activities. Preliminary findings from the interrogation of the accused and initial investigations revealed that the suspects acquired substantial movable and immovable assets using the illicit proceeds.

Therefore, it was deemed necessary to freeze the shares held in the five BO accounts under Section 14(1) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012.
