Fire brought under control in Uttara slum area

DHAKA, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - A fire that broke out in a slum area in Bamnartek, Diabari under Uttara in the capital was successfully brought under control this evening.

According to initial reports, the fire originated around 6:26pm, and firefighting units reached the scene by 6:40pm. The blaze prompted a swift response from the fire service.

A total of five firefighting units-two from Uttara Fire Station and three from Tongi Fire Station-worked to douse the flames. Their coordinated efforts brought the fire under control at approximately 7:13pm.

No casualties have been reported so far.
