DMP files 1,273 cases over traffic rule violations

DHAKA, April 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,273 cases against traffic rule violators in different parts of the capital during the last 24 hours.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP NM Nasiruddin said the traffic division conducted drives against traffic rule violations on April 29 as part of its routine campaign to ensure road discipline.

He said during the drives, the traffic police dumped 266 motor vehicles and towed away 60 vehicles for various violations.

According to DMP, a total of 43 cases were filed in Ramna Zone, 130 in Lalbagh Zone, 179 in Motijheel Zone, 189 in Wari Zone, 180 in Tejgaon Zone, 250 in Mirpur Zone, 276 in Uttara Zone and 266 in Gulshan Zone.

The traffic division said it will continue such drives to maintain discipline and ensure smooth traffic management on the capital's roads.
