DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - Four people were killed and at least 10 others injured after a bus lost control, crashed through a road divider, and collided head-on with an Akash Paribahan bus in the opposite lane at Norda near Notun Bazar in Bhatara here.

The deceased were identified as Laizu Begum (38), Kabir Jomaddar (47), Khushi Begum (35) and Robiul (22). 

The victims hailed from Mongla in Bagerhat and Mirzaganj in Patuakhali.

Sub-Inspector Nesar Uddin of Bhatara Police Station said the bodies are being sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy after completion of legal procedures.
