BOGURA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and one injured in two separate road accidents in the Kahaloo and Nandigram upazilas of the district today. 

A worker was killed as an unidentified vehicle ran over him while crossing Bogura–Naogaon regional highway in front of the New Hope Feed Mill under Narhatta Union of Kahaloo upazila around 12:30 am today. 

The deceased was identified as Md. Robiul Awal Zia, 42, son of Abdur Razzaq from Birganj upazila of Dinajpur. Robiul was a laborer at the feed mill in Kahaloo and lived on the factory premises.

Kahaloo Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam said the vehicle responsible could not be seized as it fled the scene after the accident while legal procedures were underway.

Meanwhile, a truck helper was killed and driver wounded as the sand-laden Natore-bound truck traveling from Bogura crashed into the back of another sand-filled standing truck on the roadside in the Fakpal area of Nandigram. 

The deceased helper was identified as Md. Inzamam, 20, son of Izzat Ali from Kharashni village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. 

The injured driver, Md. Shamim Sheikh, 35, is the son of Arab Ali Sheikh from Khedapara village in the same upazila.

The front portion of the moving truck was badly crushed, trapping driver Shamim Sheikh and helper Inzamam inside the cabin.

Kundarhat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman said the two trucks have been recovered. The deceased’s body has been kept at the morgue of SZRMC Hospital. Legal action regarding the incident is in process.
