Cultural affairs minister, state minister visit ailing artist Mustafa Monwar

DHAKA, June 22, 2026 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom today visited ailing renowned painter and puppetry researcher Mustafa Monwar at Square Hospital in the capital. 

The ministers went to the hospital to inquire about the health condition of the esteemed artist and spent some time beside his bedside. 

They also reviewed his overall medical treatment and expressed concern over his condition, said a press release.

At the time, the Culture Affairs Ministry handed over a financial assistance cheque for his treatment to the family of Mustafa Monwar.

The ministers reiterated that the government remains committed to standing beside cultural icons and contributors of the country in times of crisis.

They also prayed for the swift recovery and good health of the ailing artist.
