Sylhet, Cumilla get new DCs

DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - The government today appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) to Sylhet and Cumilla districts. 

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard. The notification said that the appointments will come into effect immediately.

As per the order, deputy commissioner of Cumilla Muh Reza Hasan has been transferred to Sylhet as DC and district magistrate and deputy secretary of civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Rosy Akter has been made DC and district magistrate of Cumilla.

Meanwhile, the government withdrew DC of Sylhet Md Sarwar Alam and attached him to the ministry of public administration (MoPA) as deputy secretary on June 21.
