One more dies of measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, July 1, 2026 (BSS) - One more patient has died from measles-like 
symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the 
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,118 new suspected measles cases were reported 
nationwide, while 167 confirmed patients were admitted to different hospitals 
across the country, a DGHS press release said.

The release said 951 suspected measles cases were detected in the last 24 
hours, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 102,028 since March 
15.

A total of 85,509 suspected measles patients have, so far, been admitted to 
hospitals. Of them, 81,882 have recovered and been discharged after receiving 
treatment, it added.

Since March 15, a total of 626 children have died from suspected measles, 
including one death reported in the last 24 hours.

No death from confirmed measles was reported during the past 24 hours. The 
total number of confirmed measles deaths has remained at 93 since March 15.
