DHAKA, July 12, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a total of 41 people in a special operation across Jatrabari, Uttara West and Turag police station areas of the city on Saturday. 

According to a police press release, they were held in connection with regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants and other criminal activities. 

It said that the arrested are Kazi Al Mamun (49), Md Shafiqul Islam (57), Md Abu Bakkar (19), Md Emon (19), Md Jumman (24), Md Rubel (30), Fatema (22), Al Amin Hossain Munna (21), Sufia Rahman (28), Md Rabiul (26), Md Nahid (23), Shahed (19), Md Mehedi Hasan (18), Sifat (19), Rifat Khan (19), Md Manik (21), Md Harun Or Rashid (40), Ambia (35), Sumon (35), Shamim, Jahangir Alam (30), Iqbal Hossain Sheikh (27), Md Sohag Molla alias Babu (28), Md Raihan (24), Md Rahman (24), Md Sheikh Russell (27), Md Sohel Rana alias Khairul (28), Nahid Hossain (22), Md Bishal Mia (21), Niamul Hasan Milan (30), Md Russell (28), Khairul Islam (20), Md Milan Fakir alias Milan Bhandari, Md Shahid (28), Md Soni alias Hridoy (30), Md Sagar Hossain (29), Md Masud Rana (23), Jasim Mia (38), Robin alias Mofasel (20), Md Mushfiqur Rahman Emon (28) and a minor.

Police said such special drives will continue to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the areas. 

The arrested individuals have been produced before the relevant court following the completion of legal formalities.
