DHAKA, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS) - Speedster Nahid Rana, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and wicket-keeper batter Liton Das got picked by different franchises from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft today, held in Lahore.

Nahid Rana who is yet to make his T20 International debut was picked up by Peshwar Zalmi from the gold category. Karachi Kings acquired the service of Liton Das, a day after he struck a record-breaking century in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).  Liton earlier played in the same franchise in 2021.

Liton was roped in during the round 2 of the silver category. Later in round 3 of the same category, Lahore Qalandars obtained the service of Rishad, who also got chance to play Australian domestic T20 tournament Big Bash. Rishad couldn’t make it Big Bash due to his stint with Fortune Barishal in BPL.

Nahid Rana caught the global attention for his raw pace. During the Test series against Pakistan last year, he troubled the batters with his pace to help Bangladesh sweep the two-match series.

His performance made a lasting impression so much so that the Peshwar Zalmi had no reservation to raise the paddle for the services of the youngster.

Nahid will get the likes of Babar Azam, Siam Ayub in the Peshwar Zalmi.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman who were placed in the Platinum category, where players can earn between $130,000 and $150,000 (BDT 12.5 million) didn’t get any takers.

The Diamond category saw players can earn approximately $85,000 (BDT 9 million).

The gold category’s salaries are $50,000 (BDT 6 Million).

The largest group of Bangladeshi players were listed in the Silver category where players can earn $25,000 (BDT 3 million).
